Chamber fills economic development post from within

YOUNGSTOWN

Tom Humphries, president & CEO of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, didn’t look far to fill the chamber’s vacant economic development post.

Sarah Boyarko, manager of business development, was promoted Monday to the post of vice president for economic development, business retention and expansion.

Boyarko succeeds Walter Good, who left the chamber last year to become director of business development for Team NEO/JobsOhio.

“We are extremely happy to have Sarah leading our economic development team,” said Humphries in a statement. “We’ve received numerous positive comments from officials from Columbus to Cleveland regarding her contributions to our economic development efforts in the Mahoning Valley.”

Boyarko, a Boardman resident, is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Mahoning Valley and a 2009 honoree of the Mahoning Valley Young Professional’s 40 Under 40 award. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s of science degrees from Youngstown State University.

Boyarko has been on staff at the Regional Chamber since 2006.
