Liberty resident Clara Charity has released her second book of poetry, “Sparks from the Heart, Fire from the Soul.”
Born and raised in Youngs-town, Charity has been writing poetry for several years.
Charity accomplished her work as a single mother of three, a grandmother of two and a caregiver for her elderly parents, all while working two jobs and studying for a bachelor’s degree in business.

Ex-NFL player writes bio with wife in mind

Chris Spielman’s biography, “That’s Why I’m Here: The Chris and Stefanie Spielman Story,” is the touching love story of the former NFL star and his wife, Stefanie, whose life was cut short at 42 by breast cancer.
For more than a decade, the couple worked together trying to beat her cancer, all while sharing struggles and successes with the public to raise awareness and funding for the disease. They founded the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research and the Stefanie Spielman Fund of Patient Assistance at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer — Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Rickard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC -James).
Spielman, who grew up in Massillon, is a former Ohio State Buckeye, a two-time All American and a 2009 inductee to the College Football Hall of Fame.
During his 11-year NFL career with the Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns, he played in four Pro Bowls and an NFC Championship game with the Lions.
Spielman is a college football analyst for ESPN and a co-host on ESPN’s reality series “Rise Up.”
