Tragic in more than one way

Tragic in more than one way

The article, “Valley native killed while attending Bible study”, is a tragic result of a young Christian being taught false doctrine by someone who does not know how to interpret the scriptures.

This young man is not a martyr but a victim of a teaching that says that Christians can command God and people to do what they want them to do. This is false and many unbelievers criticize believers for this selfish and unscriptural doctrine.

Jesus said to give to those who ask you and when confronted by a robber with a gun you should comply with the request. Everything can be replaced but your life.

Let these false teachers and preachers go to a third world country and preach this dangerous nonsense. Just look at the life of Jesus, the early Christians and the suffering Christians around the world today and you can see that this teaching is not true.

The parents of this young man should be angry at the teacher who taught this false belief to their precious son. This individual is responsible for his death and a propagation of a doctrine that has deceived so many unsuspecting Christians.

It is time for the Church to wake up and speak against the many false doctrines that are being proliferated by these unscrupulous teachers who just want money and fame but are unconcerned about the condition of the people that they teach this garbage.

May God have mercy and comfort the family and friends of this precious young man who was taken too soon because of the error of lawless men.

Tend to your trimming, please

As I drive through our com- munities, I am struck by homeowners who have large trees and bushes that block the complete view from driveways and intersections. Now business are contributing to this problem.

We need to keep the bushes and trees for our environment, but we also must not sacrifice safety for overgrown greenery
