Someplace Safe Inc., Trumbull County’s domestic violence agency, will have its annual Unity Day ceremony Monday at First United Methodist Church, 309 N. Park Ave. The event commemorates victims of domestic violence, celebrates survivors and reaffirms the commitment of those working in the field.

Guest speaker will be Carolyn Andrews, domestic violence advocate for Warren Municipal Court.

Refreshments and information will be available at 11:30 a.m.; the ceremony will start at 12:15.

Charity golf outing will benefit dogs

GIRARD

For the Dogs will have a charity golf outing Oct. 8 at Mahoning Country Club, 710 E. Liberty St., Girard, to help raise much-needed funds to continue its mission of rescuing dogs and giving them a second chance to find a new, caring home. Registration is from 8 to 8:45 a.m., with a shotgun start set for 9. Fee is $65 and includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, breakfast, a snack at the turn, soft drinks, beer and a catered lunch. For the Dogs also is seeking corporate hole sponsorships, which start at $50 and are tax-deductible. A sign with your name will be placed at your sponsored hole.

Evening golf outing is BPJW benefit

Boardman Poland Junior Women’s League is sponsoring a Glow Golf Outing at 7 p.m. Oct. 15 at Knoll Run Golf Course, 1421 Struthers Coitsville Road.

The event will benefit the league’s community special needs. Cost is $25 per player on four-player teams. The cost includes nine holes of golf with cart, a light meal, a 50-50 raffle, basket auction and more. A cash bar will be available.

Registration will begin at 6 p.m. and golf starts at 7.
