CLEVELAND

A federal grand jury handed up an indictment Wednesday against a 37-year-old Youngstown man who is charged with one count each of robbery and aiding and abetting.

The indictment charges that Shane Tisdale robbed a Super 8 Motel employee in Boardman on Sept. 27, 2006.

The case was presented by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Daniel J. Riedl and Christos N. Georgalis, after an investigation by the FBI and Boardman police.

In 2007, Tisdale was sentenced to six years in prison for 12 robberies in Liberty, Girard, Hubbard, Niles and Warren that occurred between Aug. 13 and Nov. 22, 2006, according to Vindicator archives.

This was on top of the 12 years in prison he was sentenced for a string of robberies in Mahoning County that took place between Sept. 11 and Nov. 23, 2006.

Tisdale pleaded guilty in both counties.

In most of the robberies, police said Tisdale displayed a gun and either entered the business, ordered employees to re-enter the business after it had closed or hand over the items after leaving the business.
