Benefit show
YOUNGSTOWN
An art and rock show to benefit fire victim Chip Taylor will begin at 9 p.m. Friday at Cedars, 23 N. Hazel St., downtown.
Taylor, of the band November Loop, was burned in an Aug. 9 fire that destroyed his house on East Chalmers Street on the South Side. His mother, Patricia Conway, perished in the fire.
Taylor, a father of two, spent several weeks recuperating in Akron Children’s Hospital burn unit. Proceeds will help pay for his medical and living expenses.
Performing will be November Loop, Sonny Hopcheck, The Silver Thread and Joe Shelby.
Art donations by local artists will be accepted from 8 to 11 p.m. Thursday at Cedars. Anyone wishing to contribute art, rock memorabilia items, or gift certificates can do so from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, or by appointment. Contact Devon Carr at decampdc@gmail.com or Robyn Maas at relisemaas@gmail.com.
An account at all Huntington Bank branches has been set up for those who wish to contribute money. Donations also can be mailed to the Hilbert/Chip Taylor Jr. Donation Account at Huntington Bank, 476 Boardman Canfield Road, Boardman, OH 44512.
