VanSuch and Jackson advance to November ballot in Campbell

A nonpartisan primary election for mayor today pitted two challengers, Lew Jackson and Nick Opencar, against incumbent Bill VanSuch.

Only two could advance to the November general election. They are VanSuch and Jackson.

Out of 6,489 registered voters, 1,447 voted at the polls and 323 voted by absentee ballot.

VanSuch was the top vote-getter, with 550 votes at the polls and 154 votes by absentee ballots. Jackson had 531 votes at the polls and 95 by absentee ballots. Opencar had 358 votes at the polls and 73 by absentee ballots.
