The Williamson College of Business Administration will celebrate outstanding alumni at its 16th Annual WCBA Alumni Banquet at 6 p.m. Oct. 28.

The WCBA will present its Outstanding Alumni Awards to William Hartwig, retired vice president for supplier relations and international procurement department of the Marriott Corp.; Karen Conklin, executive director of the American Red Cross of the Mahoning Valley; Theresa Dellick, Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas Juvenile Division; and Lorilyn Shandor, prospect/event administrator of Humility of Mary Health Partners Foundation.

Prevent foreclosure at Austintown event

The Neighborhood Community Foundation will host a free foreclosure prevention workshop from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Fairfield Inn & Suites, 801 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

The independent, nonprofit organization will inform participants of the foreclosure process, help them recognize their legal rights and teach them about their options and potential solutions.

Peter Cozmyk, a fore- closure defense attorney who is one of the keynote speakers at foreclosure- prevention workshops, said lender violations are found in eight of 10 reviewed loan files, but oftentimes home-owners don’t realize it.

Safety council will host seminar

The Mahoning Valley Safety Council will host a seminar titled “Outdoor Yard Work, Landscaping and Chemical Storage Hazards” from 11: 20 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre, 123 N. Main St.

Robert Davis of Ohio Casualty Insurance will discuss outdoor yardwork hazards such as flying debris from power equipment as well as other physically and chemically hazardous yard activities.

The cost of attendance is $20 for members of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and $30 for nonmembers.
