Fire stations in a northwest Ohio city have been asked to keep their doors locked and stay alert for suspicious activity after shots were reportedly fired outside two stations this week.

Fire Chief Luis Santiago says it appears fire stations are being targeted but he doesn’t know why.

The shots were fired Wednesday at two stations but no one was hurt. A bullet mark had been found Tuesday on the door of a firetruck parked at a third station.

, where firefighters discovered a burning package a day earlier.

The fire chief wouldn’t talk about the investigations into the incidents or say what was in the burning package, which was removed by a bomb squad.
