A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:
POLAND
Sept. 15
Theft/disrupting public services: An AT&T worker told police someone stole about 200 feet of copper phone line from utility poles in the 2700 block of South Hubbard Road, which disrupted service to area residents.
Sept. 17
Menacing: Police responded to a dispute between two neighbors in the 6900 block of List Lane.

Sept. 15
Employee theft: The owner of a Market Street grocery store uncovered a pattern of theft dating back about one year and totaling $34,000. The investigation is ongoing.
Damage: A vehicle struck and damaged a tree in the 6100 block of Glenwood Avenue.
Theft: A $200 global-positioning-system unit was taken from a car in the 200 block of Afton Avenue.
Criminal trespassing: Police responded to an argument between the owner of a Market Street tanning salon and two customers, one of whom had been issued a warning not to be on the property.
Fraud: A Mathews Road woman found out her credit card had been used to make several unauthorized withdrawals, then returned to her.
Counterfeit: An employee with Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road, discovered two $50 bills thought to be fake.
Aggravated menacing: A woman walking her dog on Gertrude Avenue told police a resident threatened to have his dog kill hers after the accuser’s dog had urinated in the area.
Attempted burglary: Someone tried to enter an apartment in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court.
Theft: Five $60 video games were stolen from Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft by deception: An elderly Locust Avenue woman reported wiring $3,000 to someone in Jamaica after having received a call claiming she won a lottery contest there. The money was needed to pay taxes on the winnings, she was told.
Drugs: Police in the 5300 block of Market Street arrested a Youngstown boy, 17, on charges of trafficking in heroin and marijuana, as well as 26-year-old Christopher L. Anderson, 935 Sherwood Ave., Youngstown, on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, complicity to trafficking in drugs, permitting drug abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Among items found after a drug transaction were several bags of suspected marijuana, a large knife and two paper folds with 0.5 grams of suspected heroin, a report said.
Sept. 16
Theft: Rebecca A. Tibbetts, 53, of 4055 South Ave., Boardman, was charged in the theft of $20 worth of undergarments from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Theft: A Tod Avenue man reported a $250 stereo/compact-disc player was removed from his vehicle.
Harassment: An East Western Reserve Road gas station received numerous such calls.
Theft: A $1,600 ring and a $1,000 wristwatch were stolen from a home in the 5000 block of Firnley Avenue.
Misuse of a credit card: A Hopkins Road woman found out her card had been used to make $682 worth of fraudulent purchases.
Burglary: To a residence in the 1700 block of Mathews Road after someone kicked in a rear door. Stolen was a $250 Sony PlayStation 3 console.
Theft: Several pieces of jewelry were missing from a home in the 100 block of Clifton Drive. The loss came to about $1,200.
Theft: Two company-owned cellphones were stolen from Verizon Wireless, 474 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Counterfeit: A phony $20 bill was passed at Sam’s Club, 6361 South Ave.

Criminal damaging: The front door to a residence in the 1300 block of Meadowood Circle was scratched and lightly damaged.
Criminal damaging: Someone in the 1200 block of Boardman-Poland Road scratched a car, causing $1,000 in damage to the finish.
Harassment: A worker for a business in the 5300 block of Market Street reported receiving about 35 unwanted calls.
Misuse of a credit card: An Ashtabula woman learned her stolen credit cards were used without authorization at two Southern Park Mall stores and a gas station.
Theft: Eight hubcaps and two stereos were stolen from three vehicles at 4Wheels Auto, 5925 South Ave.
Criminal damaging: Someone drove through and damaged part of a lawn in the 7400 block of Sierra Madre Trail.
Attempted burglary: A woman in the 100 block of Indianola Road reported seeing three boys ages 12 to 14 in her backyard who had tried to enter her residence.
Sept. 18
Theft: Three people left Denny’s Restaurant, 154 Boardman-Canfield Road, without paying a $43.71 bill.
Sept. 19
Fraud: An employee with Carlson Wagonlit Travel, 7221 Market St., learned someone had unlawfully accessed the company’s computer and bought three airline tickets for overseas trips.
Theft: Michael J. Demetro, 21, of 5354 New Castle Road, Lowellville, faced a felony count, accused of stealing $692 worth of merchandise from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.
Bad check: A McArthur Drive woman told officers her teenage daughter’s employer issued the girl a $154 check that bounced.
Theft/misuse of a credit card: A Youngstown woman reported her credit card stolen at a Market Street store and that it was used at two township locations to make $111 worth of unauthorized purchases.
Burglary: Took place in the 4000 block of Hudson Drive through a garage door. Two bicycles were taken.
Theft: A Youngstown girl, 16, was charged with stealing lip gloss from Walmart.
Counterfeit: A fake $10 bill was passed at Taco Bell, 458 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Vandalism: A man driving near Southern Boulevard and Homestead Drive told police someone threw an object and damaged a portion of his car’s passenger side.
Theft: A worker for Rent-a-Center, 6810 Market St., discovered someone had rented and pawned a $2,000 laptop computer.
Auto theft: A 2003 Dodge Neon was stolen in the 600 block of Cathy Ann Drive.
Aggravated menacing: An Eisenhower Drive man reported getting an email in which the author threatened his life if the accuser failed to pay $8,000.
Attempted burglary: Someone pushed against a rear door in an effort to enter a home in the 300 block of Melrose Avenue.
Sept. 20
Drugs: A traffic stop on Midlothian Boulevard led to the arrests of James Crafter III, 20, of 523 E. Philadelphia Ave., Youngstown, on charges of drug trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia, and 19-year-old Marquise M. Adkins, 239 E. Florida Ave., who was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and carrying contraband into a detention facility, both felonies. Found were multiple bags of suspected marijuana packaged for sale, a loaded revolver and a metal device with suspected marijuana residue, police said.
