Second Chance Community Outreach Ministry will open at its new location at 1747 S. Raccoon Road, Suite No.1, on Saturday.

The nonprofit ministry, which has existed three years, provides free hot meals to community residents, companionship and fellowship.

Doors will open at 4 p.m. The opening will include a free meal to be served around 5 p.m., with a time of worship with music by singer/songwriters Anne Martineau and Kelly Williams at 6.

Music featuring other local artists will be presented Saturdays thereafter.

A grand opening event, featuring a variety of activities, will be Oct. 22.

Second Chance previously provided meals at Upper Room Ministry monthly. The ministry is in the process of expanding to provide a food pantry, clothing cupboard and other services as needed for the community.

In exchange for bringing a canned food item, names will be included in a drawing for a CD, book or other item.

Volunteers also are needed along with Christian musicians willing to share their talents.
