Youngstown Area Chi Omega Alumnae recently recently celebrated its 70th Founder’s Day luncheon at Tippecanoe Country Club in Canfield.

The organization’s first meeting was Feb. 5, 1941, and is the oldest continually meeting sorority alumnae group in the area. Over the years, the group has had many service projects, including auctions and grand formal dances. During WWII, the group made quilts and collected other items to send to soldiers overseas.

Mmbers have long supported many local charities and philanthropies, including sponsoring families at Christmas, backing local women’s shelters and donating to various children’s charities.

Membership is open to all area Chi Omega alumnae. Email YoungstownXO@gmail.com for more information.
