Aug. 27

Theft: A Houston man at a Tiffany Boulevard motel discovered a computer bag containing $970 worth of merchandise had been stolen from under his bed.

Drugs: After getting a complaint about someone smoking marijuana in a vehicle on Argyle Avenue, police charged 33-year-old Jonathan E. Davis, 1870 Lynn Mar Ave., Boardman, with possession of Vicodin and drug paraphernalia after saying he had 2.5 Vicodin tablets with no prescription. Davis also was cited on a charge of having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Attempted burglary: Someone pushed up a kitchen-window screen in an attempt to enter a residence in the 400 block of Old Shay Lane.

Menacing: A Poland woman at a Romaine Avenue home told police a man followed her, pulled into the driveway and continually honked his horn.

Arrest: Christopher S. Woloschak, 27, of 464 Rhoda Ave., Youngstown, was arrested in the 200 block of Midlothian Boulevard. Woloschak was wanted by Canfield authorities on a charge of amphetamine manufacturing.

Assault/criminal mischief: A man in an argument with another driver near U.S. Route 224 and Tippecanoe Road told police the motorist punched his face, then kicked and dented his vehicle’s passenger side.

Aug. 28

Criminal mischief: Someone tossed eggs at a vehicle in the 50 block of North Cavilled Drive.

Threats: A worker for a Boardman-Poland Road business told police an irate customer threatened to return to shoot the store.

Aggravated menacing: A Lockwood Boulevard woman reported a friend of her husband’s called threatening to shoot her.

Theft: Heather J. Upole, 27, of 27 Steel St., Youngstown, faced a felony charge, accused of stealing $1,447 worth of clothing from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Domestic violence: Marshall A. Wilcox, 44, of 454 Melbourne Ave., Boardman, faced a charge after his wife alleged Wilcox had threatened over the phone to beat her to death.

Domestic violence: Police arrested 19-year-old Jefferson D. Payne, 215 Victoria St., Youngstown, after pulling him over on Southern Boulevard. Payne’s former girlfriend, of Shields Road, alleged he had tried to choke her during an argument.

Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop on Mathews Road led to the arrest of Kristopher J. Branch, 200 Chris Ave., Washingtonville, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after police said Branch admitted suspected contraband found in the vehicle was his.

Sept. 2

Theft: A Boardman man discovered $99 had been electronically withdrawn from his bank account without authorization.

Theft: An air-conditioning-unit condenser and a related item were missing from a residence in the 100 block of Carter Circle.

Theft: Police charged Teanisha S. Mitchell, 32, of 364 E. Judson Ave., Youngstown, with stealing five pairs of pants from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered Maggie’s Magic Muffin House, 7932 Southern Blvd., and removed an undisclosed sum of money.

Arrest: A traffic stop on Route 224 resulted in the arrest of 19-year-old Michael P. Tomko, 3755 Mercedes Place, Canfield, who faced misdemeanor charges of receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia. Suspected marijuana debris was in the vehicle driven by Tomko, who had a stolen wallet, a report said.

Possible theft: A man reported his wallet lost or stolen while in the 6700 block of Applewood Boulevard.

Theft: Jimmy Cuevas, 38, and 21-year-old Ashlie M. Reed, both of 955 E. Boston Ave., Youngstown, were charged in the theft of orthodic-shoe inserts and four dog leashes from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Burglary: To a residence in the 1200 block of Shields Road, from which $16,000 worth of property was stolen, including a $12,000 mink coat.

Theft: Police gave a summons to Rachel R. Rose, 28, of 47011 state Route 558, New Waterford, after women’s undergarments and a gift bag had been stolen from Walmart.

Arrest: Police charged 34-year-old Brian M. Parker, 134 Lemans Drive, Boardman, with misuse of the 911 system and obstructing official business, both misdemeanors, after responding to a call regarding an argument. Parker had made two nonemergency calls to 911, then impeded authorities’ investigation, a report showed.

Sept. 3

Theft/trespassing: A woman and her teenage daughter stole undergarments from Walmart. The mother had been issued a criminal-trespassing warning not to be on the premises, police said.

Harassment: A Melrose Avenue woman reported another woman threatened to harm her.

Theft/forgery: A Barbie Drive woman reported the theft of personal checks, jewelry and two credit cards, and that her signature was forged on checks cashed for a total of about $1,200.

Theft: Police accused two 15-year-old girls — one from Youngstown, the other from Warren — of taking $197.50 worth of clothing from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall. They were released to the custody of a guardian.

Arrest: Police on Market Street pulled over 28-year-old Maurice D. Coles II, 2409 St. Clair Ave., East Liverpool. He was wanted on a warrant from Columbiana County.

Harassment: A Lockwood Boulevard woman told authorities she’s received two months’ worth of pornographic text messages.

Arrest: Authorities took into custody 18-year-old Jesse E. Daviduk at his residence, 7515 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, on a warrant charging him with aggravated burglary. Daviduk also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when, police said, three suspected marijuana pipes were found in the home.

Theft: A global-positioning-system unit, a gym bag, a digital camera and an MP3 player were removed from a car in the 1300 block of Pheasant Court.

Theft: Someone stole a $200 cellphone and a medical bag from a vehicle in the 7400 block of Huntington Drive.

Sept. 4

Theft: Police charged Martinnette E. Walker, 40, of 92 Gladstone St., Campbell, with stealing a $10 lunchbox from Walmart.

Theft: Mary L. Welsh, 51, of 1031 Compass West Drive, Austintown, faced a charge after $208 worth of household products was taken from Walmart. She was released on a summons.

Criminal damaging: An unidentified substance was used to damage a vehicle’s locks in the 4600 block of Euclid Boulevard.

Drugs: Police charged 46-year-old Debra L. Zuccaro, 3631 Hopkins Road, Youngstown, with deception to obtain a dangerous drug, a fourth-degree felony, after accusing her of picking up another person’s prescription at Walgreen’s Pharmacy, 525 E. Midlothian Blvd., without authorization.

Aggravated menacing: A man driving on South Avenue reported his former girlfriend followed and threatened to kill him.

Vandalism: Someone intentionally broke a front window at T.R. Party Centre, 4174 Market St. The estimate was $500.

Sept. 5

Burglary: Three glass end tables, a DVD player and an entertainment stand were stolen from an apartment in the 400 block of Mathews Road someone had entered, possibly through a window.

Criminal mischief: An Afton Avenue man told police juveniles had made a mess of his property.

Theft: Two people in their 20s stole items from Dollar General, 5953 South Ave.

Assault/criminal damaging: A woman at the Southern Park Mall reported another woman pulled her backward by the hair, struck the accuser’s head and face and broke two necklaces she was wearing.

Menacing: An employee with a Boardman-Poland Road store told officers a woman threatened her after the accuser had confronted the woman’s son about his being in an employee area off limits to customers.

Theft: The manager of a South Avenue motel told police a former employee failed to return an emergency key to the establishment.

Theft: Two DVDs, a GPS device, a backpack and loose change were removed from two vehicles in the 1300 block of Pheasant Court.

Robbery: Robert A. White Jr., 24, of 408 W. Wilson Ave., Struthers, faced a robbery charge after five videos had been stolen from Walmart. White fought with three employees who tried to detain him, a report said.

Robbery: Police charged 30-year-old Samuel T. Cappitte III, 347 Camden Ave., Youngstown, with robbery after seven video games had been taken from Kmart. Cappitte shoved a store official to the floor in an attempt to flee, but was quickly apprehended, a report showed.

Sept. 8

Theft: A South Avenue man discovered $37 missing from his pants pocket.

Drugs: Officers responded to a suspicious person near Market Street who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. A prescription bottle with several types of pills was found, a report said.

Theft: An estimated $5,500 worth of electronics equipment, clothing, jewelry, DVDs and money was taken from a home in the 40 block of Brookwood Road.

Theft: Police booked 24-year-old Ulyses N. Rucker III, 332 Emery Ave., Youngstown, after a $40 cellphone had been stolen from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: Jerry M. Minteer, 25, who listed addresses in Niles and Girard, was charged in the theft of two video games from Walmart.

Drugs: A traffic stop on Glenwood Avenue led to felony charges of trafficking in marijuana against 23-year-old Elliott J. Moody, 4011 Glenwood, Boardman, and 24-year-old Kristopher D. Ford, 327 N. Roanoke Ave., Austintown. A vehicle search turned up a plastic bag with four bags of suspected marijuana, police said.

Theft: Robert M. Ramey, 45, of 1800 Market St., Youngstown, was charged, accused of stealing a set of headphones from Walmart.

Harassment: An Erskine Avenue woman reported receiving an unwanted sexual call.

Menacing: An Indianola Road man said a woman called and implied he would be harmed.

Sept. 9

Theft: The owner of a Boardman-Poland Road business alleged his landlord stole 15 to 20 customer-information cards.

Burglary: Someone pried open a side door and entered a residence in the 4800 block of Brookwood Road, then stole Sony PlayStation 3 and Xbox game consoles and a surround-sound component.

Menacing: A man at a Market Street business told police a motorist swerved toward him after he had asked the driver to turn down his music.

Theft: A Pennsylvania woman discovered her $500 cellphone had been stolen at a Doral Drive store.

Criminal damaging: Someone near Southern Boulevard and Homestead Drive threw a rock and damaged a van.

Assault: An employee with a Simon Road towing business told police a man punched the accuser’s mouth during a dispute over a $90 towing bill.

Sept. 10

Auto theft: A 2000 Pontiac Grand Am was stolen in the 4900 block of Brookwood Road.

Theft: A woman reported the theft of her $550 cellphone while at the Southern Park Mall.

Recovered property: A stolen 2000 Buick was found abandoned in the 1500 block of Country Club Avenue.

Sept. 11

Theft: Thomas Tabor, 41, of 7454 Sierra Madre Trail, Boardman, was charged with stealing miscellaneous donated items from Goodwill Industries, 285 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Menacing: A Glendale Avenue woman said a neighbor made threats.

Harassment: A Melbourne Avenue woman said her husband screamed obscenities during a cellphone call.

Theft: A South Schenley Avenue woman discovered $3,500 missing from her apartment.

Criminal damaging: Two tire tracks were found in a front lawn in the 6700 block of Trenholm Road.

Arrest: Officers responding to an unwanted person in the 300 block of Melrose Avenue picked up 22-year-old Andrew D. Stanton, 26 N. Navarre Ave., Austintown, who was wanted on four warrants, including charges of falsification, obstructing official business and possession of drug-abuse instruments.

Aggravated menacing: A Sanford, Fla., man at a McClurg Road business told police someone in a blue Dodge truck pointed a rifle at him and four family members.

Menacing: A woman walking on Auburn Hills Drive reported an enraged driver threatened to kill her.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 8300 block of South Avenue was found with a smashed window.

Vandalism: Someone spray-painted graffiti on a rear wall of a Southern Boulevard medical office and did $500 worth of damage.

Theft: A worker with a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant told officers someone phoned in several phony food orders.

Criminal damaging/harassment: A Mathews Road man said his girlfriend, during an argument, used to key to damage a portion of his car, then left several harassing and threatening text messages.

Assault: A Southern Boulevard man alleged a neighbor pushed him to the ground, causing injuries to his right elbow and shoulder.
