Ambrosia scores twice for Phantoms in USHL victory

The Youngstown Phantoms got two goals from Mike Ambrosia, and a goal and two assists from Austin Cangelosi to defeat the Sioux Falls Stampede, 7-2, on Friday night at the USHL Fall Classic.
Ambrosia scored with 14:14 remaining in the first period and added a short-handed goal with 9:23 to go — both goals were assisted by Cangelosi — to give the Phantoms a 2-0 lead.
Stephen Collins made it 3-0 with 1:29 remaining, on assists by Alexander Dahl and Alex Gacek.
Youngstown extended its lead to 5-0 in the second period on J.T. Stenglein’s powerplay goal with 18:46 left, and Cangelosi’s tally with 16:57 to go.
After Sioux Falls’ Evan Moore scored to make it 5-1, Youngstown’s Justin Stevens answered with 2:08 remaining to restore the Phantoms’ five-goal lead.
Dylan Margonari closed Youngstown’s scoring with a tally with 4:05 left in the game, before Todd Skirving scored for the Stampede with 1:55 to go.
Sean Romeo went the distance in goal for the Phantoms, stopping 19 shots.
