COLUMBUS

The Board of Commissioners of the Clients’ Security Fund of Ohio recently awarded $6,010 to former clients of two suspended Mahoning Valley lawyers.

The board reimbursed $1,300 to a former client of Mahoning County lawyer Warren G. Pritchard, whose Ohio law license was suspended Nov. 10, 2009.

It also awarded a total of $4,710 to five former clients of Columbiana County lawyer Richard V. Hoppel, whose Ohio law license was suspended June 8, 2011.

Pritchard and Hoppel failed to refund unearned fees paid by their clients, the board said.

Those who believe they are victims of theft, embezzlement or misappropriation of funds by lawyers should call CSF toll-free in Ohio at 800-231-1680.

Autumn festival

East Lewistown

An autumn festival from

3 to 6 p.m. Saturday is scheduled at the Beaver Township Nature Preserve along state Route 165, two-tenths of a mile west of New Buffalo Road.

Activities will include free hay rides, a petting zoo, refreshments, educational programs and more. Admission is free. The program is part of the ongoing education series at the nature preserve. The rain date is Oct. 1.

Traffic-light move

MINERAL RIDGE

The Ohio Department of Transportation will move the traffic light from in front of the Middle School on state Route 46 to Stewart Street and Route 46.

The Weathersfield school board of education Wednesday approved transfer of 0.05 acres to the Ohio

Department of Transportation to make the change. The light now will be directly in front of Stewart Street. It is hoped the new light will be in position by August of next year, school Superintendent Damon Dohar said.

The board also approved creation of an Athletic Hall of Fame Committee. The district does not have an athletic hall of fame.

Members of the committee will be the superintendent, high-school principal and athletic director.

Township trustees are seeking residents to join the Township Park advisory board. A letter of interest and résumé should be sent to the park board at the

Poland Township Government Center, 3339 Dobbins Road, by 4 p.m. Oct. 11.

Canfield piano sale

New and used pianos will be available for purchase Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. at the C.H. Campbell

Elementary gymnasium.

The sale supports the Canfield School’s piano-loan program and will be conducted through the Solich Piano & Music Co.

Delivery and financing will be available. Trade-ins also will be accepted.
