Help abused, neglected at Rigatoni for Rescue

Rigatoni for Rescue, a fundraiser to help abused and neglected animals who are rescued and in the care of the Humane Society of Columbiana County, will be at the Steel Trolley Diner from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Cost is $8 per dinner. Child portions and carryouts are available.

In recognition of October as Domestic violence Awareness Month and Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, “Paws for a Cause” will be sold for $1 through Oct. 17 at the diner to raise awareness of the correlation between animal abuse and domestic violence.

Food, wine, brew taste this weekend at mall

Savor the Flavor of the Valley, a fine wine, food and brew taste, is planned for 7 to 10 p.m. Sunday at Southern Park Mall. Proceeds will benefit Hospice of the Valley. Tastings from more than 50 wines and brews will be available, in addition to food samples from more than 20 local restaurants.
