Apple Butter Stir in Deerfield

The Deerfield Civic Association will have its 36th annual Apple Butter Stir on Oct. 8 from dawn until dusk at the Deerfield American Legion grounds, 1357 state Route 14, a quarter-mile northwest of the Deerfield Circle. Johnny Appleseed will roam the grounds with treats for children, and there will be a vintage- antique car-truck show; pancake breakfast at 7 a.m.; and arts, crafts and flea-market vendors. The final batch of apple butter will be put on an open flame at 10 a.m.

Entertainment groups who would like to volunteer a 45-minute show can contact Bill Westover at 330-654-2199. The Deerfield Dandies are scheduled for 4 p.m.
