Oryan Farms, 3112 Pothour-Wheeler Road, will participate in National Alpaca Farm Days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Those interested can meet some of Oryan Farms’ 14 alpacas, which are members of the camelid family.

They were first imported to the United States from South America in 1984 and are now raised throughout America. They produce natural fibers that are clipped without injuring the animal.

$5,000 grant to aid youth program

The Kennedy Family Fund has awarded a $5,000 grant to Leadership Mahoning Valley.

LMV is a component fund of The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley. The funds will be used for the Youth Leadership Mahoning Valley program.

Now in its 17th year, Youth Leadership Mahoning Valley seeks to motivate young people to make plans and pursue leadership positions in the Valley.

About 100 high school juniors and sophomores from Trumbull and Mahoning counties participate in the program each year.

Allegiant Travel makes Fortune list

Allegiant Travel Co., which flies out of the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport, is ranked 64th on the 2011 “100 Fastest-Growing Companies” list by Fortune.

Allegiant is ranked 56th in profit growth and first in the transportation category.

The annual list recognizes the company’s revenue growth and financial stability. This is the second- consecutive year Allegiant has been recognized.

HBA plans fall show at Eastwood Mall

The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of the Mahoning Valley will host a Fall Home Show from Friday through Sunday at Eastwood Mall.

This year’s show is expected to feature more than 70 vendors displaying home upgrades.

The show also will feature crafters, homemade items, at-home decorating items and unique foods.

The show is free.

Networking lunch

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber is hosting its ConnectForLunch program at noon next Wednesday and Sept. 29.

The lunch will give businesspeople an hour or more to meet and network with fellow businesspeople.

The cost of the lunch is paid for by each individual who chooses to participate.

Those interested must be chamber members. Reservations are requested by 5 p.m. Thursday.
