Eastwood Mall getting new bookstore

Less than a week after the Borders at Eastwood Mall Complex shut its doors for good, another bookstore chain announced it will open in Niles sometime before the holiday season.

Discount chain Books-A-Million Inc. is planning a November opening at the space formerly occupied by Shoe Retreat, said Joe Bell, spokesman for the Cafaro Co., which owns the mall.

Birmingham, Ala.-based Books-A-Million, which has more than 200 locations nationwide, will open a 10,300-square-foot location in the Dillard concourse.
