Police have arrested a man in an assault on three girls at a horse auction earlier this month.

State Police said Danny E. Wengerd Jr., 18, of Main Street in Volant, Pa., is charged with aggravated assault, unlawful restraint, simple assault and harassment.

The charges stem from an episode Sept. 2 when the girls, age 12, 12 and 13, were assaulted and fondled, police said.

Wengerd was arraigned Monday and housed in the Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.

The investigation is continuing, police said. The girls told police five men assaulted them.

Plot to attack school

One man and one juvenile have been arrested and two more men are charged in an apparent plot to attack Lincoln High School.

The four conspired on the 16-year-old’s Facebook page, said Ellwood City Police Chief Mark Romutis.

She is a Lincoln High School student. Another student saw the comments Thursday on her page and alerted authorities, Romutis said.

Police are not releasing the girl’s name.

Nicholas Martinkovich, 18, of West Sunbury, Pa., was arraigned in the case Monday on charges of threats to use weapons of mass destruction, terroristic threats, corruption of minors and criminal conspiracy. He was in the Lawrence County Jail on Tuesday in lieu of $40,000 bond, Romutis said.

Facing those same charges are Kasey Kimmel, 20, and Christopher Vankirk, 21, both of Ellwood City. Warrants are out for their arrests, said Romutis.

The juvenile is charged with terroristic threats and threats to use weapons of mass destruction.

Man assaulted

WARREN

A 27-year-old South Street man was assaulted by a man, woman and their English Mastiff dog at the BP gas station, 1290 Market Street Southeast, Tuesday morning, he told police.

The man said he was waiting for a ride at 5:45 a.m. when the woman came into the store and assaulted him with her fists. He said the man and dog came into the store next, and they also attacked him.

A store clerk said the woman assaulted the victim without provocation and that store video probably captured the incident on tape.

As of Tuesday afternoon, no charges had been filed. The victim had bruises on his head and shoulders and dog bites on his hands and arms.

Children left in car

Youngstown

Police charged a 30-year-old woman with endangering children after she left her car with two children inside unattended and with the keys in the ignition outside the Mahoning County Courthouse, 120 Market St.

Teeya Graham, 2330 Buckey Circle, told police she was attending the arraignment of her child’s father, according to a police report. A bystander saw the children in the car about 2 p.m. and called police. After removing the keys from the vehicle’s ignition, the officer waited for Graham to leave the courthouse about 2:30 p.m., the report said. Police arrested Graham, who also had an outstanding warrant for disorderly conduct.

Open house planned

YOUNGSTOWN

Planned Parenthood of Northeast Ohio (PPNEO) is having an open house at its newly renovated Youngstown Health Center, 77 E. Midlothian Blvd., on Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tara Broderick, PPNEO chief executive officer, will offer a brief program at 5 p.m.

Improvements include a complete interior renovation, larger client exam rooms, and a relocated entrance. The project was privately funded, officials said.

The Youngstown Health Center is expanding its hours to four days a week and two Saturdays each month.

Broderick said services provided include: abortion referral, birth control services, emergency contraception, general health care, HIV testing, hepatitis vaccines, men’s health services, patient education, pregnancy testing options and services, sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment, and women’s health services.
