CINCINNATI

St. Peter in Chains Cathedral was the setting on Nov. 6, 2010, for the marriage of Dr. Melissa Bender and Dr. Joseph Cerimele, both of New York City.

The daughter of Gregory Bender of Syracuse, Ind., and Linda Gerbers of Columbia City, Ind., and the son of Nick and Cindy Cerimele of Boardman exchanged vows at a 1:30 p.m. ceremony solemnized by the Rev. Joseph Fata, and a reception followed at the Cincinnati Club before the couple left for a honeymoon in Hawaii.

The bride, who has retained her maiden name, was attended by her sister-in-law, Crystal Bender, as matron of honor.

Nicholas Cerimele was his brother’s best man, and ushers were the bride’s brothers, Adam Bender, Christian Bender, Jordan Allen and Geoffrey Gerbers.

The bride is a physician at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City after earning a bachelor’s degree from Hanover College and a medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine.

The groom is a physician at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City after earning a bachelor’s degree from Case Western Reserve University and a medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

The couple are making their home in New York City.
