The West Front Porch of the legendary Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island was adorned with 2,500 scarlet geraniums for the mid-summer wedding of Cristina Garlough and Louis Huffman on July 30.
The Rev. Doug George of First United Methodist Church of Salem, Ohio, officiated at the double-ring ceremony, overlooking the waters of the Straits of Mackinac, and a reception followed in the hotel’s main dining room. The couple honeymooned on the island and in Dearborn, Mich.
Parents of the couple are Wayne and Judi Allio and William and Virginia Huffman, all of Salem. The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore an old-world ivory lace-over-satin corset-back gown embellished with hand-beaded appliqu s.
Her matron of honor was Dianne Barnhouse in a scarlet satin strapless gown. Best man (in absentia) was Mark Butler.
The bride attended Mount Vernon Nazarene College and is an underwriter for Farmers National Bank of Canfield, Ohio. The groom is vice president of Foster Pattern Works Inc. after graduating from Ohio State University.
They are making their home in Columbiana.
