Ursuline High School will have its ninth annual auction, “Celebrate Our Legacy,” Nov. 5 in the Ursuline gymnasium. CARD, BINGO PARTIES

Blessed Sacrament Parish, 3020 Reeves Road NE, Warren, will host a Casino Night & Texas Hold ‘Em Saturday at the parish Covelli Center gymnasium. Doors open at 5 p.m.; the tournament begins at 5:30. Girard Eagles Ladies Auxiliary 2172 will have its bingo and card party Oct. 2 at the Eagles Club hall, 26 W. Wilson Ave. Doors will open at noon to serve a red pasta dinner with meatballs, tossed salad and coffee or tea. You may also take a canned food item to give to the needy for Christmas for a free card with the purchase of a ticket. The event will also include a basket and 50-50 raffles and a bake sale. St. Patrick Altar & Rosary Society will host a card and bingo social at 1 p.m. Sept. 25 in the church hall, North Main Street, Hubbard. Admission is $5 and will be collected at the door. A light lunch will be served, along with table prizes, door prizes, a basket auction and a 50-50 raffle.

Holy Rosary bingo and card party at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 421 Covington St., Youngstown, will feature a light lunch. 50-50 raffle and other prizes, from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 25. Admission for adults is $4, and for children, it’s $2.

Shepherd of the Valley-Poland, 301 W. Western Reserve Road, Poland, will resume its card games Wednesday, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. This month a buffet lunch will be served for a cost of $5. DANCES

Portage County Chapter 600 of International Parents Without Partners will have a dance from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Oct. 22 at Kent VFW 3703 Post home, 500 VFW Parkway, off Stow Road, in Kent. Music will be by DJ Mel. The public is invited, and invited to join PWP members celebrate the “Halloween” theme by wearing a costume. Salem Memorial Building Association is hosting its annual indoor fall yard sale/flea market from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the gym. Eight-foot tables with chairs can be reserved for $10 per table. Austintown Senior Center will host a trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the center, 100 Westchester Drive. All proceeds will directly benefit the Village family. Mr. Village is a Gulf War veteran whose recent health issues have caused a financial hardship on the family. Damascus United Methodist Church will have its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 30 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 1. You can fill a brown paper bag for $4 all day Friday and until noon Saturday. From noon to closing, fill the bag for $1. Larger items will be priced separately. SPECIAL EVENTS

The 21st Lawrence County Polish Day is set for noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Cascade Park Pavilion. The kitchen will open at noon and dancing starts at 1:30 p.m. Admission is $12 per person. Those 16 and younger will be admitted free. Featured entertainment will be Grammy-nominated Polka Family Band from Bloomsburg, Pa., and Jimmy K and Ethnic Jazz of Cleveland. Polish food prepared by members of Holy Trinity Polish National Church will be available for purchase. Vendors will be selling Polish pottery from Boleslawiec, Poland, as well as wooden and glass eggs, Christmas ornaments, Polish sweets, seasonings and canned goods, amber jewelry and gourmet garlic. Donations will be accepted at the event for the Polish orphanage “Jutrzenka,” located in Bardo, Poland. Since the collection began, more than 2,500 pounds of supplies and $4,000 have been sent to the orphanage. Proceeds benefit the American Polish Central Committee Educational Scholarship Fund. That Quilt Group I Belong To will sponsor a Shop Owners’ Night Tuesday at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road. The doors open at 6 p.m. Shop Owners’ Night is an annual event at which about a dozen quilt shop owners in the surrounding two states and four counties gather and take items from their stores to sell. The Jewish Community Center of Youngstown is taking a bus trip to Cleveland Oct. 23 to see the smash musical hit “Million Dollar Quartet.” The play is inspired by the true story of the famed recording session that brought together Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.
