Man tries to abduct girl, 10, in Campbell

A woman told police that a man tried to abduct her 10-year-old daughter.

The attempted abduction happened around 7 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Coitsville Road, police report.

The child told police a man pulled her behind a tree in a yard at her home. He shoved a leaf in her mouth and began to grunt or growl at her.

When her mother began calling for her daughter from the front yard, the man ran into the woods behind the house, the report says.

The man was about 5’8” tall, had brownish-green eyes and a dark complexion, police report.
