Government jobs are killing us

At the risk of incurring the wrath and rants of David Betras, Democratic Party chairman, and his union followers, I have to comment. I am not registered with either party and vote for the candidate and not the party and urge others to do so.

The recent bribe offered to keep the president’s job is called the American Jobs Bill. As with all his legislation to date this will also be not effective and it will further run up our national debt.

As an observation, has anyone noticed the increase in federal employment, (union buddies) with their virtual guaranteed jobs with related gold plated pay and benefits packages? These are jobs that are paid for by the 9.1 percent unemployed and by struggling taxpayers who have to take pay cuts to keep their jobs.

When is the federal government going to tighten its belt, cut back and suffer with us, not run up the debt to get re-elected?

And, just a short comment on state Issue 2, in lieu of the professionally written multi-column letters on this issue. We must pass this issue with a strong yes vote, to correct the inequities that are killing the state and country with bills we can’t afford in this economy.
