Gas drops a few cents in the Mahoning Valley


YOUNGSTOWN — The cost of gasoline in the Mahoning Valley is down 6 cents a gallon from last week, according to AAA’s Fuel Guage Report.

Gas in the Valley now costs $3.54 for a gallon of regular-grade gasoline, down from $3.60 last week.

Meanwhile, gas in Ohio dropped 15 cents per gallon during the last week, according to a survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express.

Regular-grade gasoline is averaging $3.49 a gallon statewide, compared to $3.64 a week ago.

Gas remains more expensive that it was last year at this time, when regular was averaging $2.75 in Ohio. But the state’s current average is 16 percent below the all-time high of $4.16 a gallon reached in early May.
