EUGENE, ORE.

LaMichael James ran for 204 yards and three touchdowns, including a 90-yarder, and Oregon cruised. James’ 90-yard dash was Oregon’s longest run since 1938. The Heisman Trophy finalist from last season also had a 1-yard TD in the first quarter and a 50-yarder in the third. Darron Thomas threw for 206 yards and three touchdowns for the Ducks (2-1). Lavasier Tuinei caught scoring passes of 8 and 34 yards, and Oregon sat most of its starters early in the second half. Missouri State (0-3) scored on its first possession. The Bears were efficient in a nine-play, 84-yard drive that was capped by Chris Douglas’ 3-yard touchdown run to make it 7-0. But the Ducks went on to build a 35-7 halftime advantage.

Indiana State 44, Western Kentucky 16

BOWLING GREEN, KY.

Ronnie Fouch threw for three touchdowns Saturday night in Indiana State’s win over Western Kentucky, marking the Hilltoppers’ 17th straight home loss going back to 2008. Indiana State (2-1) never trailed after Fouch found Justin Hilton from 14 yards out in the first quarter. Fouch, the former backup to Jake Locker at Washington, finished 14 of 24 for 227 yards with one interception. The victory was the Sycamores’ first over a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent since 2001. Indiana State hadn’t won a nonconference road game since 2004. Shakir Bell paced the Sycamores’ ground attack with 221 yards on 25 carries, including a 46-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Missouri 69, Western Illinois 0

COLUMBIA, MO.

Henry Josey rushed for three touchdowns and 263 yards while James Franklin threw for three scores as Missouri overwhelmed Western Illinois. Missouri (2-1) set a school record with 744 yards of offense and tied a school record for most points scored while holding Western Illinois (1-2) to just one first down and 44 total yards.

Cal Poly 48, South Dakota 14

SAN LUIS OBISBO, CALIF.

Thomas O’Brien threw for 376 yards and two TDs but had three interceptions for SDSU (1-2).
