McAndrews mark 60th anniversary with dinner party

AUSTINTOWN

John “Jack” and Elizabeth “Dolly” McAndrew of Austintown were honored with a 60th anniversary dinner Sept. 17 at Dino’s Restaurant in North Jackson.

The invitational event was hosted by their five children, John (Mary) McAndrew, Karen (Brian) Biggs, Linda Droege and Bill (Ida) McAndrew, all of Austintown, and Tony (Cathy) McAndrew of Fullerton, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Nina Droege, and Saran, Jennie and Jesse McAndrew.

Mr. McAndrew and the former Dolly Angelo were married Sept. 15, 1951, in Sacred Heart Church, Youngstown.

Mrs. McAndrew was a cashier at Youngstown State University Bookstore before retiring in 2007, and she belongs to two card clubs and a bowling league.

Mr. McAndrew was a coordinator for General Motors Lordstown, retiring in 1995; served two years in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.

The couple are members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown, where they serve as greeters.
