Huffmans mark golden milestone at dinner event

CANFIELD

A buffet dinner at A La Cart Catering in Canfield on Sept. 4 marked the 50th wedding anniversary of James L. and Barbara J. Huffman of Canfield, formerly of Austintown.

The invitational event was given by their children, Lisa L. Baker of Canfield, and James R. Huffman of Waxhaw, N.C.

The couple also have six grandchildren.

Mr. Huffman and the former Barbara J. Gartland were married Aug. 30, 1961, in United Methodist Church in Loch Lynn, Md. They renewed their vows in 1964 at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Austintown.

Mrs. Huffman was a staff nurse at Forum Health Northside Unit before retiring Sept. 1, 2006. She is a member of the Ohio Nurses Association and Retired Nurses of Youngstown. Mr. Huffman is a driver and equipment operator for Parisi Excavating in Youngstown and was a member of several area bands.

The couple belong to St. Michael Church of Canfield and the Saxon Club of Youngstown.
