After eight weekends of family-friendly entertainment, the Yellow Creek Theater ended another successful year during the showing of “The Sound of Music” on Aug. 26.

On the warm late summer Friday, guests gathered behind the Poland library to hear the hills come alive with Julie Andrews’ voice.

For Campbell guests Verna Jean Wise, Khade Mahone and Talea Fulton, their Aug. 26 visit was one of a few stops at Yellow Creek over the summer. Poland natives Lily, Henry, and Brenda Gentile, however, visited for their first time during the last movie showing.

“We live nearby, but this is actually our first time at Yellow Creek. We figured that it’s better late than never,” Brenda Gentile said.

Even after seven successful years of organizing the theater, Joanne Eiselstein still feels blessed with the continued success of the venture.

“The planning committee never thought that we would come this far, but I’m really glad we did,” shared Eiselstein. “It was a wonderful summer and we saw many friendly faces, but many new guests as well. So, now it’s on to the next year and I already have next year’s movies in mind.”
