Announcing the engagement of their daughter, Roberta Thomas, and Brian Tyree, both of Lordstown, are Frank J. Thomas of Garrettsville and Sandra L. Thomas of Newton Falls.

The prospective groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tyree of Culpepper, Va.

The couple are planning an early afternoon wedding for Oct. 12 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. A reception will take place at the Fifth Season Banquet Center in Mineral Ridge.

Miss Thomas, a graduate of the Ohio College of Massotherapy and Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, is clinical director and instructor for Northcoast Medical Training Academy in Kent. Mr. Tyree attended Central Texas College. He is a deputy sheriff for the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office.

Both are Army veterans.
