The Phantoms opened the season with a home ice 2-2 tie against the Pittsburgh Predators last weekend.

Pittsburgh scored both goals early. The first goal was scored at 5:38 left in the first period and the second at 4:40 remaining in the first period.

The Phantoms cut the deficit in half when Devin Whitaker (Boardman) scored on a breakaway goal. Late in the third period, Danny Beistel (Canfield) scored on a pass from Lexi Stutz (Boardman) to tie it at 2-all.

Colin Frost was in the goal for the Phantoms, facing 15 shots.

Youngstown will travel to North Hills today to face the Vipers. The Phantoms are members of the Pittsburgh Amateur Hockey League.
