GED testing at Choffin is set for next week

Official GED Testing sponsored by Choffin Career and Technical Adult Education Department University System of Ohio will be offered at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Choffin.

All participants must be pre-registered and bring a photo ID.

Participants sought for International Friends

Families are needed to participate in the International Friends Network At Youngstown State University.

It is an organization which represents individuals and families in the community who have welcomed YSU international students to their homes for a meal or have included them on an outing.

The network is seeking hosts for international students in the coming 2011-12 academic year.

This hosting program is not one in which students live with a host family, and the host family is not expected in any way to provide financial support for a student.

Some hosts have become like “American parents” to their students, while others have invited a number of different students to their homes only once or just a few times.

Each host’s situation and level of involvement will be different. The goal of this valuable person-to-person program is to open minds and promote understanding that will benefit both the international students and their hosts.
