Back at Williamson

Youngstown

Wanda Clark is back at the helm of Williamson Elementary School.

City schools Superintendent Connie Hathorn had removed Clark from the principal post last month after her principal’s certificate had expired.

The woman who had been put in that position, Dorothy Davis, asked to be removed for personal reasons, Hathorn said. Clark’s principal certificate has been renewed, so she was reinstated to the position.

“She wasn’t removed because of performance,” Hathorn said.

Disposal for flags

POLAND

From now till the end of the month, Shepherd of the Valley in Poland is receiving tired, torn and faded American flags that need to be retired.

The flags will be burned in the “Braidich Burner,” a portable propane-gas fueled flag-disposal unit designed by Shepherd of the Valley-Poland resident Ray Braidich. He worked for the past 10 years to design a vessel just for this purpose. CMI Industry Americas in Salem manufactured the first burner.
