Salahi ‘devastated’ that his wife left
FRONT ROYAL, Va.
Celebrity White House gate-crasher husband Tareq Salahi is glad his wife, Michaele, is OK but heartbroken that she’s left home to be with another man, reported to be lead guitarist for the rock band Journey, the couple’s attorney said Thursday.
Tareq Salahi had reported his wife missing Tuesday night, telling authorities in Virginia he feared she had been kidnapped. Authorities, however, said ex-reality TV personality Michaele Salahi told them she was fine and didn’t want to return home. Then celebrity website TMZ reported that a representative for Journey said she was safe and with guitarist Neal Schon.
“Tareq is devastated, but he is relieved to know that Michaele is safe,” Salahi attorney David Silek told ABC’s “Good Morning America. “That was his first concern.”
Silek said it’s premature to say whether the couple would get a divorce.
Rapper T.I. is back at halfway house
ATLANTA
The Grammy-winning artist T.I. was back at a halfway house in Atlanta on Thursday after weeks of fighting with federal prison officials who were upset he traveled with a TV producer and a manager when he was released from an Arkansas prison, his attorney said.
T.I. initially was released from the Arkansas prison and sent to the halfway house Aug. 31, a month before his sentence for probation violation was up. But a day later, he was back in federal custody after corrections authorities accused him of violating prison rules by discussing business deals with the two during his 375-mile journey to Atlanta.
Attorney Steve Sadow argued that the rapper didn’t break any rules because a VH1 reality show and book deal that was announced within hours of his release actually had been finalized months earlier.
Sadow said Thursday that his client didn’t intend to violate any guidelines and that he was pleased with the outcome. The Bureau of Prisons did not comment on the move.
Actress: Phone hacking made me paranoid
NEW YORK
Phone-hacking victim Sienna Miller says she planted false stories with friends in an attempt to figure out why intimate details of her life were showing up in British tabloids.
Miller, an actress and former girlfriend of actor Jude Law, told NBC’s “Today” show in an interview that aired Thursday that stories about her appeared in the newspaper that only her mother, sister, boyfriend and best friend knew about.
“At the time, I was incredibly paranoid,” she said.
Miller reached a $161,000 settlement with the tabloid News of the World, which had hacked into her cellphone messages.
