Real-estate owners may consult with appraisers and auditor’s office personnel concerning their tentative, new property values from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today, Monday, Wednesday, next Friday, Sept. 28 and 30 and Oct. 3, 5 and 7 at Mahoning County’s reappraisal information center in the first-floor auditorium at Oakhill Renaissance Place, 345 Oak Hill Ave., Entrance A. Results of the once-every-six-years mass reappraisal of county real estate were released this week at www.mahoningcountyoh.gov. Taxpayers also may call 330-740-7909. No appointments are needed for residential and agricultural property owners, but commercial and industrial property owners are asked to call the above number to schedule an appointment with a commercial appraiser.

Dinner meeting

BOARDMAN

The Boardman Civic Association will have its third dinner meeting of the year Monday at the Boardman Community Center in Boardman Park.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner begins at 6:30. This meeting will serve as the annual candidates’ night with those campaigning for the school board and township trustee speaking. Rally against SB 5

YOUNGSTOWN

The Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters and the Youngstown Professional Fire Fighters Local 312 will be hosting a “Vote No on Issue 2 [SB 5] Rally” at 1 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Coach’s Sports Bar & Grill on Sheridan Road. There is a $10 donation that will benefit the MDA.

The rally will include food, a 50/50 raffle, bucket auction and a disc jockey.

Wheels and Keels

LAKE MILTON

Wheels and Keels is the title of a free boat show that will be from noon until 4 p.m. Saturday at Lake Milton State Park on Grandview Road. Vintage cars, hot rods and cruisers will be on display in the amphitheater parking lot. At the docks, old Lyman and CrisCraft wood boats will be tied up.

Awards will be given for various categories. Car and boat owners can register the day of the show for $5.

The Blessing of the Fleet will take place at 2 p.m., followed by a water-ski show. DJ Don will provide music, and the Fifth Season Restaurant will offer entr es, sandwiches and appetizers for purchase. Beer also will be available. For more information, go to lakemiltoninfo.com.

Health screening

YOUNGSTOWN

The Visiting Nurse Association of the Greater Youngstown Area will have its monthly free health-screening clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at its agency, 518 E. Indianola Ave.

The VNA offers free health screenings by staff nurses that include weight, blood pressure, blood sugar and medication reviews. Flu shots also will be given at a cost of $20. Medicare and Anthem Senior accepted. Informational items are available. Centers for Hearing Care also will be at the clinic offering hearing screenings.
