Collections set for hard-to-recycle items
NEW CASTLE, Pa.
Collections have been scheduled this month and next in Lawrence and Butler counties for hard-to-recycle items.
PA CleanWays of Butler-Lawrence Counties announced that the first event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds on Pa. Route 108, across from Laurel High School.
The public is invited to drop off appliances, electronics, tires batteries, fluorescent light (CFLs and tubes) and paper (for confidential destruction).
There is a charge for items ranging from 10 cents for button-cell batteries to $55 for a floor model copier. Terms are cash only the day of event and no personal checks will be accepted.
A wide variety of electronics and materials can be accepted.
A similar event is planned for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Jefferson Township Fairgrounds in Mercer County. Details will be announced later.
