Anti-SB 5 group slams pay raises

Opponents of a law limiting Ohio public-employee unions are preparing to air a second TV ad statewide, this one critical of recent legislative salary increases.
In a spot to appear beginning today, We Are Ohio criticizes recent pay raises for Ohio Senate employees, several worth $15,000 annually.
The ad charges that politicians who called for sacrifices to help balance the state budget “exploited a loophole” that exempts them from the new collective-bargaining law.
Voters in November will be asked whether the law should be repealed.
Spokesman Jason Mauk, of the Building a Better Ohio committee defending the law, calls the ad “nothing more than smoke and mirrors.”
