Support group offers advice in finding jobs

The Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road, will host a seven-week program designed to aid local job seekers. Sessions begin later this month.
“Hope Works of the Mahoning Valley,” a free support group for the unemployed and/or underemployed in the area, offers participants the opportunity to enhance their job prospects by sharpening job-hunting skills and networking and search strategies.
All sessions will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Presenters will share their expertise for people of all skill levels.
The schedule is: Sept. 28, Your Successful Job Search; Oct. 5, Fine- Tuning Your Cover Letter, Resumes, and Skill Set; Oct. 12, Reinventing You and Thinking Outside the Box; Oct. 19, Going Where the Jobs Are, Exploring the Health-Care Field; Oct. 26, Employers Panel with Tips and Suggestions; Nov. 2, Opportunity for Mock Interviews; and Nov. 9, Computer Skills for the Job Search: Basics & Beyond. This session will be at Mahoning County Career & Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road, Canfield.
