Cattle die in early morning crash

HUBBARD — Hubbard Township Police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol spent much of the morning clearing and cleaning Interstate 680 after a truck carrying more than two dozen cows flipped over.

According to the highway patrol the single-truck accident happened at 4:18 a.m. Monday near the 233 mile marker in the east-bound lane. The road was closed to traffic until 6:44 a.m., but emergency workers were clearing the road through late morning.

The driver of the truck reportedly had minor injuries, but some of the 25 to 30 cows on the truck were killed in the accident.
