AAA: Gas prices remain steady in Valley

YOUNGSTOWN — Gas prices in the Mahoning Valley remained steady compared to last week.

The price for a gallon of regular-grade gas is $3.60, nearly $1 more than the same week last year, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report.

The statewide average is slightly higher.

Monday’s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express shows regular-grade gasoline is averaging $3.64 a gallon statewide, compared to $3.68 last week and $2.71 last year at this time.

Across the country, regular is currently averaging $3.65, a penny more than in Ohio.

U.S. gasoline prices broke records earlier this year as developing nations pushed up world oil demand, while uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa raised concerns about supplies. Prices fell after that but have rebounded since late August.
