Surprise party marks 50th for the Congemis

CANFIELD

A surprise celebration Aug. 20 with family and friends marked the 50th wedding anniversary of John and Mary Congemi of Canfield.

The couple’s children, John (Allison) Congemi of Columbus and Andrea Congemi (Robert) Briggs of Mountain Top, Pa., hosted the party, which was an evening event by invitation at the Fifth Season Banquet Center in Mineral Ridge.

Mr. and Mrs. Congemi both plan to retire at the beginning of next year. She works as a receptionist for Dr. Anthony Bisconti in Poland, and he is employed in stock at Reyer’s Shoe Store in Sharon.

The former Mary Tamburelli and Mr. Congemi were married on Aug. 19, 1961, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown.

They are members of St. Charles Church in Boardman.
