Taste of Hubbard at Harding Park
HUBBARD
Hubbard’s food establishments will again present their signature dishes and specialities at the fourth annual Taste of Hubbard Sept. 25 at the new Kyle Pavilion in Harding Park.
Events for the whole family include artisans and crafters from noon to 6 p.m., a vintage car cruise and DJ (weather permitting) from noon to 5 p.m., food-tasting from 1 to 4 p.m., music at the bandstand from noon to 6 p.m., horse-drawn wagon rides from 1 to 4 p.m., Pony Tails Petting Zoo and Pony Rides from noon to 6 p.m. (weather permitting), a basket auction and home-baked goods to buy.
The arts and crafts displays will be along the new sidewalks at Pavilion 3 and will include original artwork in oils, watercolors and acrylics, sculptures, handmade watercolor cards, floral wreaths, mums and pumpkins, lavender gifts and soaps, birdhouses and jewelry.
The vintage cars will be near the park entrance at the restored Bell Tower from the First Presbyterian Church, which was built in 1857. Prizes will be drawn throughout the day.
More than 15 food establishments will be represented at this year’s taste. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Costs are $3 for five tastes or $5 for 10 tastes. Tickets for both the wagon and pony rides will be sold separately.
A tent will be set up where patrons can enjoy dishes from wedding soup to gyros, ice cream to pasta and greens.
Take your lawn chairs to listen to the sounds of local musicians all day, including a local favorite, Music at Madison, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Numerous baskets have been donated by Hubbard businesses and individuals for the auction, and the baked goods sale will include cakes, pies, cookies and more.
The event is being sponsored by the Harding Park Meeting House Building Committee, a joint effort by members of Hubbard Rotary, Hubbard CARES and the Harding Park Board.
