In schools across Boardman, school is now in session.
At St. Charles School, classes began during the week of Aug. 26, with each week since offering new opportunities for the school’s kindergartners to become comfortable in their academic home.
Kindergarten teacher Patty Bartholomew hopes her students learn the importance of God, family, friendship and learning at St. Charles.
Kindergartner Bryce Cannon shared, “I’m excited to learn how to do flips in gym class.”
“Learning to read and using our Smart Board is really cool, too,” added classmate Elena Chahine.
The public schools in the Boardman school district waited until Sept. 6 for their first day. Older students at Robinwood Lane Elementary were already preparing for their leadership roles at the school.
“As a fourth-grader, I know that the little kids look up to us and that we have to show the right way,” said Christyna Reagan.
Second-grader Cora Ams is looking forward to competing in her school’s spelling bee for the first time, but she also loves her social life.
“I’m excited for this year. It’s really great to see all my school friends again,” Ams shared.
