Memorial concert for Sept. 11 tragedy

YOUNGSTOWN

A free concert to memorialize the victims of the Sept. 11 terror attacks will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday — the 10th anniversary of the tragedy — at Trinity United Methodist Church, 30 W. Front St., downtown. The concert will include the Faure Requiem, with a choir and chamber orchestra and soloists Andrew Sords, violin; Kayla Wilson and Colleen McNally Harris, sopranos; and David Pratt and Max Pivik, baritones. Film needs extras

Versace Entertainment needs extras for a movie that is being filmed in Millcreek Park at the Lake Glacier Boat House. Boys and girls of all races between age 14 and 24 are needed to play students. Dress in camping clothes: jeans, shorts, and any type of clothes that can be ruined (but no visible logos). Also, extras between 20 and 40 years, male and female, to play teachers. Dress casual.

Art show to open in Playhouse lobby

Art Youngstown will premiere a juried art show in the lobby of the Youngstown Playhouse tonight, with a reception before the opening of the musical “Gypsy.” The art will be on display for the run of the musical. A portion of the proceeds from sales of the art will benefit the Playhouse.
