Sharpsville, Pa., man gets prison sentence for child pornography

PITTSBURGH — A Sharpsville, Pa., resident, who pleaded guilty to a child-pornography charge, has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison followed by 10 years of supervised release.

U.S. District Judge Joy Flowers Conti imposed the sentence today on Robert Allen Chamberlain, 49, who must register as a sex offender.

On or about Dec. 31, 2009, Chamberlain knowingly possessed images and videos in computer graphics files, the production of which involved the use of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct, the U.S. Attorney said. The case was prosecuted by Jessica Lieber Smolar, an assistant U.S. Attorney, after a Pennsylvania State Police investigation.
