Pasta dinner to help buy wheelchair van

A pasta dinner featuring two kinds of homemade sauce and meatballs will be a fundraiser for 21/2-year-old Mason Rodgers, who needs a van that can transport his wheelchair. Mason suffers from cerebral palsy and epilepsy and is being raised by his single grandmother, of Warren. The dinner will be served from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Milo’s on Route 422 in Niles, across from Farmer’s National Bank. Also featured will be a basket raffle and a 50-50 raffle.

The donations are $8 for adults and $4 for children under 10. Tickets will be sold at the door.

Donations also are being accepted at Wood Forest Bank inside Wal-Mart on Elm Road in Bazetta.

Archaeology dig will be discussed

FRANKLIN, PA.

Angie Jaillet-Wentlines, a student of archaeology from Mercer County, performed a dig on the Mercer County site at Pandenarium, a freed-slave town, last summer. She will discuss the town and her findings at 7 p.m. today at Christ Methodist Church, 1135 Buffalo St., for the Venango Archaeology Chapter 30.
