Ohio Natural Resources chief tapped for JobsOhio

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The head of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources is leaving to handle energy matters for Gov. John Kasich’s semi-private jobs creation board.

JobsOhio Chief Investment Officer Mark Kvamme announced today that Natural Resources Director David Mustine will manage energy issues for the board, including the development of oil and gas reserves in eastern Ohio.

Kvamme says Ohio oil and gas can position the state for a renaissance in manufacturing that depends on cheap fuel.

Kasich says Mustine’s energy experience will help shepherd Ohio’s emerging potential to tap into shale gas reserves.

Ohio Natural Resources Assistant Director Scott Zody will take over as interim director of the department. Zody is a 20-year veteran of the department.
