Man pleads guilty, will cooperate in cold case

WASHINGTON, Pa. (AP) — A man has pleaded guilty in the death of a man who disappeared a decade ago and will cooperate with authorities in the case against a second suspect.

Christopher Myers pleaded guilty Tuesday to third-degree homicide and conspiracy in the death of his former roommate, Jerry Lee Cushey Jr.

Washington County Prosecutors say Myers faces a sentence of 20 to 40 years in prison in return for his cooperation in the case against co-defendant Ronald Curran.

Cushey disappeared in October 2001. His case went cold until a grand jury report earlier this year charged Curran with killing Cushey near the Monongahela Aquatorium over a drug debt. Myers was accused of disposing of Cushey’s remains.

Curran’s trial is scheduled for October.
