Gerberry added to practice squad

Gerberry added to practice squad

DETROIT

The Detroit Lions signed center Dan Gerberry to their practice squad on Monday.

Gerberry, a Fitch High graduate who played at Ball State, has spent each of the past two seasons on Detroit’s practice squad.

He is one of three players with Valley ties on NFL practice squads. Mooney graduate Kyle McCarthy is on the Denver Broncos’ practice squad, while YSU’s Brandian Ross signed with the Green Bay Packers.

Correction

LaBrae football coach Bill Bohren wore a gray tie in honor of Jim Tressel during the Vikings’ opening game against Salem. A column in Monday’s edition incorrectly said Bohren did not participate in the Ohio High School Football Coaches’ suggested tribute to Jim Tressel.
